Watching The World Burn

Some men aren’t looking for anything logical.

They don’t want money.

They can’t be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with.

Some men just want to watch the world burn.

While our community organizer of a President has been busy nationalizing the banking and automobile industries and (trying to) do the same with our health care system, the rest of the world is slowly but surely being lit on fire.

Surely we cannot count on the lamestream media to tell us these things because they’re too busy providing air cover for “The One” and telling the rest of us that we’re wrong to oppose Barack Hussein Obama’s socialist (I say Marxist) policies.

While Obama and the media haven’t been paying attention to the rest of the world, two important developments have happened that directly impact the United States of America.  Our nation, our people and our way of life have been put at great risk by a “President” that has no clue how to manage world affairs.

America is no longer the leader of the free world.  Freedom and Democracy are being openly mocked by our enemies, they are quite literally spitting in our faces every chance they get.

North Korea, one of the members of the “axis of evil” has reached the final stage in uranium enrichment (weaponization) which would give them the capability to place nuclear weapons atop medium to long range missiles and further threaten not just its neighbors, but the United States directly.  North Korea also continues its push to weaponize plutonium which is a second way of making a nuclear bomb.

What is the Obama administration doing to deter North Korea’s nuclear weapons ambitions?  Nothing, and it’s making our allies very nervous.  British Foreign Secretary David Miliband is now openly calling for a “unified international response” to North Korea’s latest nuclear statements that they’ve reached weaponsization stage for uranium.  He said “It shows that 2009 and 2010 are the years when the non-proliferation treaty is being tested as never before and when there needs to be an extra drive from all of us” – referring to the entire United Nations.

Clearly the United States has completely lost the leadership role on North Korea.

Meanwhile In Iran …..

A recently declassified intelligence document from the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) argues that the key Iranian figure behind the 1988 downing of Pan-Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland was Ali Akbar Mohtashemi, the former Iranian ambassador to Syria and later Minister of the Interior. The attack led to the killing of 270 innocent civilians.

Mohtashemi was closely connected to Abu Nidal and his terrorist groups, and was a long time friend of Nidal.  He was paid ten million dollars in cash and gold to carry out terrorist activities and was the terrorist directly paid to bomb Pan Am flight 103 in retaliation for the accidental shoot down of an Iranian Airbus.

Dore Gold, in his book “The Rise of Nuclear Iran” says that for years there have been suspicions of Iran’s role in the Lockerbie bombing of Pan Am 103.

According to the London Sunday Times, on August 18, Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi, the Libyan intelligence officer who was just freed by Scotland, instructed his attorneys to produce documentation on the Iranian role. The attorneys had another DIA document that stated that "The bombing of the Pan Am flight was conceived, authorized, and financed by Ali-Akbar (Mohtashemi)."

In Gold’s book he reveals through the same recently de-classified intelligence documents from the DIA that Mohtashemi was also instrumental in the 1983 U.S. Marine Barracks attacks in Beirut in which 241 U.S. Marines were killed.

Mohtashemi is also a founding member of Hizbullah, which the entire world knows is an Iranian backed and funded international terrorist organization.

Most recently Mohtashemi has been working closely with Hossein Moussavi in Iran in the wake of the June Presidential elections in Iran.  Mohtashemi’s role in trying to overturn Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s regime is to install an even more anti-west government and to use Iran’s missile capabilities combined with their nuclear weapons program to attack Israel.

Why do I write about Iran and North Korea  today?  Well, there are two  reasons.

First it proves how utterly incompetent Barack Hussein Obama is in foreign affairs.  Back on March 20th of this year just three months into his “Presidency” Obama issued an unprecedented videotaped appeal to Iran offering a “new beginning” of relations between both countries after more than 30 years.  Quoting Obama:

“My administration is now committed to diplomacy that addresses the full range of issues before us, and to pursuing constructive ties,” Mr. Obama said in a message that was released to select broadcast outlets in the Middle East and was timed for the Nowruz holiday celebration in Iran.

Reaching out directly to Tehran and the Mullah’s, Obama said:

“This process will not be advanced by threats. We seek instead engagement that is honest and grounded in mutual respect.”

He said the United States wanted Iran to take its “rightful place in the community of nations”

Second, we now have all the proof we need to see just how spot-on George W. Bush was in calling Iran, Iraq and North Korea “the axis of evil.”  As we now know, Iran funded Abu Nidal and his terrorist organization’s bombing of Pan Am 103.  Iran also funded the bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut in 1983.  Iran also funds Hizbullah, of which Abu Nidal was one of it’s founding members.

At the opening of the War in Iraq, Abu Nidal was a guest of none other than Saddam Hussein, who was using Abu Nidal to train terrorists inside Iraq to carry out terrorist attacks against as yet unnamed targets but presumably the United States and our allies.

While there is much to disagree about as it pertains to the Bush Presidency, on this specific issue, George W. Bush had it exactly right in labeling Iran, Iraq and North Korea as the “axis of evil.”

To those who would say that Iran and Iraq are “mortal enemies” and would never cooperate with each other, we label you complete fools.  Iran funded Abu Nidal, who was helping Saddam Hussein train terrorists inside Iraq.  Surely the old Communist saying “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” is appropriate here.

Some men (Barack Obama) are content to strike the match and sit idly by watching while the world burns.

Van Jones Resigns, Leaves White House

Yes, we know.  Glen Beck 1, Van Jones & White House 0.

van jones But really, while everyone’s distracted by this White House / Media Generated event, aren’t  there more important things going on?

Call me crazy, but this seems to be something concocted up by the White House or media to distract our attention.  Everything that’s come out about Van Jones has been known since last February.  He was setup to be a scape-goat from the beginning.  As soon as Obama got in trouble on something there were plans in place to throw one of their own, in this case Van Jones to the proverbial wolves.

As I’ve always said, while these types of distractions are going on, keep your eyes on Congress or the White House to see what else they’re trying to sneak by us.

(See above.)

HotAirPundit has the text of Van Jones’ resignation letter, which was submitted at 12:00am Sunday morning.  I can’t think of any other time in history that a White House appointee (“Czar”) resigned in the middle of the night like this.

Surely Obama’s been disgraced.
