So Arlen Specter finally, officially, joins the DemoCRAPS and leaves the Republican party.
Was this really a surprise to anyone? After years of voting with the Democrats on liberal policies and against his own party, Specter finally made it official proclaiming “I’m not about to let twenty-nine years of service in the United State Senate come to an end in the upcoming Republican primary.”
Translation: Arlen Specter isn’t going to let the very voters who’ve returned him to office for nearly 30 years, have their say as to whether or not Specter should stay – or go.
This is exactly the type of Washington arrogance that the Tea Parties earlier this month were all about.
As if Specter thinks that the Democrats are going to “save” his seat for him? C’mon, he’s been a classic Republican In Name Only (RINO) for years now!
In 2001 when Jim Jeffords of Vermont switched from Republican to Democrat, Specter vehemently railed against Jeffords switching parties as Jefford’s move cost Specter his prestigious Senate Chairmanship on key committees when the Republican’s lost control of the U.S. Senate to the Democrats (temporarily.)
Hypocrisy, thy name is Arlen Specter.
By the way, the party of the Jackass fits you perfectly, Senator.
See you in the Primaries when all those Republican’s and Conservatives show up to throw your sorry Liberal Democrat ass out of office.
