Here’s a story that’s getting zero media play outside the immediate Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area.

Tea Party activist Gene Stilp was put on a terrorist watch list after attending a Tea Party event with a 25 foot inflatable pig.

That’s right: an inflatable pig.

Stilp was protesting excessive government spending using the inflatable pig at a Tea Party event when he was detained by a private security company contracted by the Pennsylvania State Homeland Security office. 

The company, named “Institute of Terrorism Research and Response” has had numerous complaints filed against it for taking people’s names at various events and adding them to terrorist watch lists, and in one case compiling the names of opponents of shale gas drilling and selling them to a natural gas company.

An activist who believes he was improperly included on a state terror threat list said this morning he is preparing a federal lawsuit.

"When people's civil rights are trampled it's a federal issue," said Gene Stilp of Harrisburg, who holds a Virginia law license but does not practice as an attorney.

Gov. Ed Rendell, speaking Downtown this morning, said he does not believe activists' Constitutional rights were violated.

The statement was a reversal from what he said yesterday. Asked in Harrisburg on Tuesday whether monitoring activists was "tantamount to trampling" on their Constitutional rights, he said: "I would say so."

Rendell said he is "deeply embarrassed" by the disclosure that state Homeland Security officials included information about protesters on what was supposed to be a list of possible terrorist threats.

"Being embarrassed doesn't cut it," Stilp said.

The list, which included information on public hearings that opponents of Marcellus gas drilling might attend, was sent to drilling companies.

Stilp said he believes he was among those monitored, based on Rendell's comment that a 25-foot inflatable "pink pig" Stilp takes to rallies was included in the monitoring.

"The pig! They were after the pig," Rendell said Tuesday. "That pig is what makes Harrisburg a very special place."

Stilp owns the pig and frequently displays it at the Capitol at protests over what he sees as government excesses.

Stilp said an outside investigation is warranted, by the attorney general or federal authorities.

The state paid a Philadelphia-based nonprofit $125,000 to compile the list as part of the state Homeland Security's federally mandated mission to protect public infrastructure.

The list included a Washington County meeting that Rendell attended to discuss Marcellus shale gas drilling, a screening of a documentary on the industry, a rally supporting Rendell's education budget and anti-tax protesters who took an inflatable pig to Harrisburg.

Homeland Security officials distributed the list in a security bulletin to government and law enforcement officials — including Pittsburgh City Council members — as well as universities and gas drilling companies.

City Councilman Doug Shields said he was "flabbergasted" about the bulletin he received by e-mail last week.

"The governor was outraged. I'm outraged. I'm glad this was put an end to, but we will be seeking answers. ... There will be requests of information from the state government for an explanation of who these people are, who made the decision to essentially engage in espionage and who is behind it."

Shields said he wants to see the financial statements of York-based Institute Of Terrorism Research And Response, a registered nonprofit, according to state records.

"Am I on a list somwehere? Am I on someone's dossier?" Shields said.

"If there's a list I hope we're all on it," said Councilwoman Theresa Smith.

Rendell said he "should have been notified" about the contract, but that it didn't warrant firing Homeland Security director James Powers. It was a "cumulative responsibility" and it would do no good to "make him a scapegoat," Rendell said.

The state will not renew its one-year contract with the Institute of Terrorism Research and Response when it expires in October, Rendell said.

The nonprofit, which has offices in Washington and Jerusalem, provides "actionable intelligence briefings" and "threat and hazard monitoring," among other services, according to its website.

"We maintain confidentiality with our clients, and we respect that confidentiality," said Mike Perelman, co-director of the institute.

The gas industry has to know of physical threats to its workers and equipment, but it supports people's right to discuss the issues, said Kathryn Klaber, president of the Marcellus Shale Coalition, an industry trade group in Cecil.

"Where we have to be vigilant, I believe, is ... if infrastructure is being targeted and the safety of employees and the communities we operate in are at risk," Klaber said.

Drilling industry opponents said they pose no danger. Barbara Pribila, 45, a founder of the anti-drilling Lincoln Place Action Group, said she never considered herself a rebel — and certainly not a threat to homeland security.

"I thought this was a free country and I was allowed to have my own opinion," Pribila said. "Now what, you're going to watch me and every move I make? That's not right."

Tea Party Victories Last Night Rock Republican "Establishment"

 While the Republican Establishment threatens to not back the Tea Party candidates that won handily in numerous primaries last night, let the message of the Tea Party be clear:

 We Know Who The Enemy Is, It's The Washington Political Establishment.

And that my friends includes both Democrats and Republicans.

The Republican Party in Delaware are threatening to pull support from Christine O'Donnel, uspet that their establishment liberal RINO lost his seat, and a political career that spanned more than 40 years for Mike Castle has ended.

I say this to the New Hampshire Republican Party and the National Republican Party: do it at your own peril.  As the Tea Party gains strength you either become a target or you learn to vote for the Conservative candidates for a change.  We're no longer holding our noses voting for RINO's and that should be damn' clear by now.

Get out of our way, or get run over.  That's what happens to critters that live in the "middle of the road."

Childhood Poverty Rates Reach Rates Not Seen in 30 Years

Childhood poverty levels in the United States are expected to reach levels they have not seen in almost 30 years.

Approximately 21% of children (15.6 million) are living in poverty this year according to Census Bureau information recently released.

Of those children, roughly 50% will be living in “extreme poverty” defined as 50% below the poverty line for income.

Since Obama took office in January 2009, the poverty rate jumped from 12.5% at the end of 2008 to 15.1% as of August, 2010.  That is the largest increase in almost 30 years under a single President.

The government defines poverty as a family of four with an annual income of less than $22,025.

The poverty rate for whites rose to 8.6 percent, up from 8.2 percent.  For Hispanics, the rate rose to 23.2 percent from 21.5 percent and for Blacks the rate remained unchanged at …. 24.7 percent.

What’s driving poverty rates sky high?  Eight million jobs lost since the Great Recession started in 2007 under the Democrat Controlled Congress and their anti-business, high-tax policies.

Surely the only legitimate conclusion we can draw from these important statistics is that Obama’s economic plan is working!  More people are becoming dependent on the Government for their daily sustinence, which translates into more Democrat party voters!

Yes folks,  the “transformation” into Obama’s vision for America is well under way.  Obama has forced more American’s into poverty in his first two years in office than any other President in U.S. history through his anti-business, trickle-down poverty policies.

Never Forget

Remembering Those Lost On September 11th, 2001


 
As American's, we must never forget the Muslim Islamic terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001.  To do so would diminish the distinctly human value of the lives lost on that day, and I believe in my heart of hearts that America is a bigger country than that.

Whatever problems besiege us today, we simply must remember what happened that day and put it in its proper context. To fail to do so would mean the lives lost on that day were in vain, and history would be doomed to repeat itself.  We must honor our sacred responsibility as American's to never allow that to happen.

On that tragic day, we were attacked by Muslim Islamic Fundamentalists who seek to destroy us, our culture and our way of life.  They seek to impose their will on us, by force.  These same Muslim Islamic Fundamentalists today pose as "moderate" Muslims and use our laws against us in our own country in their attempts to impose their will upon us by force of threat.  I speak of the "mosque" at Ground Zero.

What is lost on our "politicians" and the liberal lamestream media is the fact that where ever muslims believe they have won a 'war' in a foreign land they build a mosque.  It's their victory flag in America that they seek to plant.  We must never allow that to happen and we must hold those 'politicians' and other government bureaucrats that seek to allow it to happen accountable by voting them out office. 

Worldwide, muslims are "offended" that we as American's are speaking out against this 'mosque' at Ground Zero.  Speaking out against a wrong is our God given American right and we will exercise it vigorously.  Just as so-called 'moderate' muslims claim they have a 'right' to build a mosque at ground zero, we American's have a right given by God and our United States Constitution to speak out against this abomination of a 'mosque' on what we consider to be sacred ground.

Frankly, I'm offended that our 'politicians' seemingly give preferential treatment to a religion that stones a woman to death after she has been raped.  Why should I care about offending such a backwards 7th century 'religion' that stones the victim of a crime to death while allowing her rapist to go free?

Similarly, I'm offended by a 'pastor' that calls himself a "Christian" who acts so provocatively to draw attention to himself by promoting the burning of the book of another 'religion.'  What purpose does this serve?  Is this what Jesus would do?

And why is the liberal lamestream media focusing on the irresponsible actions of a so-called 'pastor' and not paying any attention to the actions of muslims world-wide that have been burning Christian Bibles, beheading non-muslims and recently burning and trampling on the American flag?  Could it be because it doesn't suit their Christian hating liberal agenda?

All these things have cluttered my mind the last few days, and as today approached I realized I was beginning to lose sight of what happened that day, September 11th, 2001.  All these things from the 'mosque' at ground zero, quran burnings in Florida and flag burning in Afghanistan are distractions designed to take away from the meaning of today and I've decided I'll have none of it.

So today I ask you to join me in putting all these things aside for today, and focus on the events of that day.  For me that means putting up my flag at the break of dawn, a day of prayer, and tearfully acknowledging the lives lost that day.  

Those who fail to remember history are doomed to repeat it.

Doubling Down On A Failed Economic Policy

There can no longer be any doubt that Barack Hussein Obama has in effect “doubled down” on what we all now know as a failed Keynesian economic policy.

Throwing another $50,000,000,000 onto the debt and deficit, Obama rewards his most staunch supporters – Unions – with a blatant payout before the mid-term elections.

Of course none of these road or bridge projects will actually begin before the mid-term elections but that’s not the point anyway.  The point is that Obama needs his core support – Unions – to turn out en masse on voting day and he’s paying them to do it with our hard earned tax dollars.

Blaming the problem on Republican’s doesn’t wash with the American  public anymore – the Democrats have controlled spending since 2006 and the tripling of our deficit and additional $4 Trillion in debt can be demonstrably laid at their doorstep.

For all the Democrats protestations that George W. Bush “ran the economy into the ditch”, the reality is during the Bush years we enjoyed a historic low 4.5% unemployment rate.  In 20 short months as President, Obama and the Democrats have more than doubled the unemployment rate sending millions of Americans out of work.

Millions more will lose their jobs before this, the worst Presidency in history is over, just over two very long years from now.

We do however have something to be thankful for, and that’s Barack Hussein Obama and the Democrats are about to lose Congress for a generation, which hopefully should be enough time to clean this mess up.

Obama Approval Drops Like Stone

Everytime this yammering idiot that occupies our White House opens his mouth, his “approval” ratings fall, and fall they will continue to do.

This coming Wednesday, Obama will take to the public airwaves once again and state he’s focusing on the economy and job creation.

Haven’t we heard this before?  Yes, earlier year Obama said he was going to focus on jobs, but instead he and the Democrat dominated Congress passed a health care reform package that no one wanted as evidenced by all the State lawsuits seeking to block its implementation and the Democrat’s stunning drop in the political polls.

Then again this summer Obama said he was going to focus on jobs, but instead he and the Democrat dominated Congress passed a “Banking and Wall Street Reform” law that no one wanted because we all recognized it would cost banking customers in the end.  Yet, the Democrats did it anyway.

As Obama took office in January last year, he said he was going to focus on jobs and passed an “economic stimulus” package that ended up costing more than $1.3 Trillion dollars all the while unemployment kept rising and rising.

So what does Obama mean when he says he’s going to “focus on jobs?”  Based on his past track record it can mean only one thing: Obama is focused on destroying jobs in this country creating a larger dependent class on the Government.  This is Obama’s “transformation” of America.

When Obama takes to the airwaves on Wednesday, any attempts to push through a new “stimulus” package that includes a single tax cut will be a patent admission that his “economic plans” to date have been an abysmal failure.

But then, as evidenced by the polls and the increasing rift in the Democrat party, most American’s already know this now don’t we?

 

Jesse Jackson’s SUV Stolen, Stripped in Detroit

Cadillac Escalade SUV Went Missing During Green Jobs Summit

You read that right: While attending a “green jobs summit” in Detroit, Michigan the “Reverend” Jesse Jackson’s Cadillac Escalade SUV was stolen and stripped.

To make matters worse, Jackson’s gas guzzling SUV was stolen after Detroit Mayor Dave Bing’s GMC Yukon Denali was hijacked and stripped by criminals earlier the same week.

There’s just so much hypocrisy in all this that makes me laugh out loud it’s almost not funny. 

Let’s start with the fact that Jesse Jackson who’s never held a real job in his life gets his money from those who can least afford it – the poor and downtrodden.  Jackson takes their money and buys himself $1,000 Armani suits and a Cadillac Escalade SUV.  Hypocrisy #1 – Representing the ‘poor’ by spending their money on luxury items for himself.

The same SUV which gets about 15mpg on the highway was driven 300 miles from Chicago to Detroit to attend a “Jobs, Justice, and Peace” march promoting government-funded green jobs.  Hypocrisy #2, driving one of the worst gas guzzling SUV’s 300 miles to attend a “green jobs” march.  Hypocrisy #2.

All the time while preaching to American’s that we need to “cut back” and live “greener lives” by cramming our families into Toyota Prius’ and using compact florescent bulbs to “save the planet” while he himself continues to live high on the hog, at other people’s expense.

That’s hypocrisy #3, all of which just makes me laugh out loud at the complete bozo’s that continue to support Jesse Jackson.

A Pakistani minister wants US President Barack Obama to offer Eid prayers at Ground Zero in New York and become the "Amir-ul-Momineen" or Caliph of Muslims.

He said: "The time is approaching fast. Barack Hussain Obama must act now. This is a golden opportunity, Muslims badly need it."

Obama's elevation to the Islamic Caliphate would be the "key to success, he claimed but did not offer any explanation for his remarks.

I’m typically never in the position of defending a Lyndon LaRouche supporter because frankly, most of those people are nuts.

But here’s the thing: either we all have Free Speech in this country, or none of us do.

Here we have a man at the Alaska State Fair who was physically assaulted and detained by “security personnel” for holding an “Impeach Obama” sign on a public way, on public grounds.  Watch as these two fat slobs of “security officers” physically detain the man holding the anti-Obama sign, using their full weight on him.

I for one think there’s a hell of a civil rights violation lawsuit about to happen in Alaska.

The really sad thing for me is that so many people just stood around and did nothing to help this disabled vet and that includes that state trooper. It's time to give up the ruse that we the people are free.

Teachers Ignore Job Openings

Unions Secure Lifetime Salaries Without Work for NY Teachers

It may surprise you to learn that teachers laid off in New York City earlier this year have chosen not to apply for another job in the NYC school system, or anyplace else for that matter according to the Department of Education.

Why is that?

Well, New York City is the only city in the country were teachers are guaranteed pay for life even if their school closes, they are laid off, or lose their job permanently.

These teachers go into what the Department of Education calls the “Absent Teacher Reserve Pool” where they can be called up to work in schools as substitute teachers or to do other jobs.

The problem is the Teachers aren’t required to show up.

The average teacher in the "Absent Teacher Reserve Pool” makes $82,000 per year with some making more than $100,000 – all on the taxpayers dime.

The ATR Pool costs New York City taxpayers more than $100 million dollars a year in full-time salaries and benefits for Teachers who’ve been laid off and now refuse to work.

Welcome to Obama’s America, folks!  If the Unions have their way, all of us in the Private Sector will be paying them to sit home on their lazy asses, doing nothing.  And you best not complain about it lest you be branded a racist or bigot.

The problem with our economy is plain as day for all to see.  It’s not Government “revenues” that are the problem (ie: us not paying enough taxes) the problem is this Government spends too damn’ much of our money!

Pop quiz time: Who’s been in control of Congress since 2006?  That’s right, the DEMOCRATS!  Who blew up the deficit in 2009 from the $300 billion the CBO projected, to the $1.4 trillion dollars that was spent?
